Salisbury Streetball is raising funds to replace the worn basketball backboards and rims at Churchill Gardens Outdoor Court.
Churchill Gardens Outdoor Court is one of Salisbury’s free public basketball spaces. It is used by young people, families, local players and community groups throughout the year.
The court itself remains an important community asset, but the existing basketball equipment has deteriorated. The backboards are worn, the rims are ageing, and the court no longer offers the playing experience the community deserves.
Our immediate goal is simple and achievable: replace the existing backboards and rims with durable, high-quality equipment suitable for outdoor public use.
Target: £3,000
Durable outdoor backboards suitable for regular community use.
Spring-loaded rims to improve safety, performance and playing experience.
Professional fitting, fixings and any required mounting adjustments.
Basketball is one of the most accessible sports in Salisbury. You only need a ball, a hoop and a safe place to play. Improving the Churchill Gardens court will help provide a better free space for young people and residents to stay active, socialise and take part in positive community activity.
This project is not just about replacing sports equipment. It is about improving a public space, supporting local young people, and keeping outdoor basketball available to everyone.

Replacing the hoops is the first phase. In the future, we would also like to explore wider improvements such as refreshed court markings, surface repairs, fencing improvements and community basketball events.
